Members of Blue Knights NE II braved the cold and wet weather in Nebraska to head out to the MWRC Fall conference held in Hot Springs, SD. Despite some cool temps, there was some very nice riding done in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We all enjoyed some fellowship with with Blue Knights from around the country . We also met an officer from Oakland PD while riding the Needles Highway.

While attending the conference, a few members from BK NE II also participated in the local 9-11 parade and staircase climb. The staircase climb is used as a fund raiser for local charities. 4 members of BK NE II were asked to part of the initial 11 “honor” members to ascend the staircase. The walk is done in silence as a tribute to the first responders who responded to and paid the ultimate sacrifice climbing the stairs at the World Trade Center on 9-11. The parade rode through town, by two senior living centers and through the Veterans Administration Hospital and housing Campus.
